FAQ
Q: Why choose Solitone™?
A:The unique feature of Solitone cables is that they remain faithful to the original recorded signal without incurring signal loss or distortion. Musical reproduction is warm, natural, properly textured and detailed without sounding cool, lifeless or analytical i.e our goal of life-like reproduction has been realized, the trademark Solitone™ sound.
Q: What is the difference between Model 1’s and the X-Line?
A: They are designed for different consumer needs. The Model 1’s represent the ideal solution for mid-fi systems although they also work very well in premium high-end systems. Because of their versatility, the Model 1 interconnects in particular, represent an unsurpassed audio bargain. The geometry and materials used in the X-Line are of the highest order and are for the most demanding audiophiles looking for the pinnacle of high-end audio.
Q: What is the cable made of?
A: We use a special metal alloy within our cables.
Q: Is the cable available in bulk?
A: The cables are only available pre-formed as our special technology does not allow for soldering of the connections in the home or workshop.
Q: Why don’t you use shielding ?
A: At typical signal input levels shielding is largely unnecessary. In our experience, shielding introduces its own sets of problems through adding its own electro-magnetic interference i.e. the baby is inadvertantly thrown out with the bathwater. Our cables work perfectly in pristine signal conduction without shielding.
Q:Do the cables have directionality?
A: The cables are non-directional.
Q: Is there run- in time ?
A: The Solitone™ technology makes it possible not to have run-in time. However components such as amplifiers and speakers will need to process new sub-bass and high frequency information obscured by previous cables. Resistors and capacitors in these components may need several hours of re-run-in time.
